Site Information

The IASC's Arctic Funding Guide website is a compilation of information obtained from funding organisations all across the web. It is a product of the International Arctic Science Committe (IASC) and their Funding Group. Funding opportunities from each of the 18 IASC Member countries in the research areas of Natural Sciences, Health & Social Sciences and Engineering were sorted through and displayed here in summary form. A majority of the organisations presented have an arctic focus.

The website was designed and coded from scratch. The information was compiled by using internet searches, assistance from IASC member countries and general funding knowledge. All members of the Funding Group contributed significant amounts of input and suggestions.

The website was created using Macromedia's HomeSite5.0 while implementing Cascading Style Sheets. The website has been tested on PC versions of IE 6.0/5.5, Netscape 7.0 and Opera 7.0, Mac versions of IE 5.5 and Camino, and on all common screen resolutions. The HTML and CSS code for the website are considered valid according to the standards of the W3C. The site went live on October 17, 2003.

The website was created, designed and is maintained by Leslie Ovitt. Leslie is a student at Michigan State University who thoroughly enjoys designing websites.

The Funding Group would like to thank everyone who assisted in the development of this site. To have an international open funding source it is vital for international cooperation. Without this help, the website never would have been finished.
