Japan Fund for Global Environment
- Objective: Provides grants for environmental conservation activities carried out by Japanese and non-Japanese NGOs.
- Programmes Offered:
- Environment conservation activities in developing regions by Japanese NGOs
- Environment conservation activities in developing regions by non-Japanese NGOs
- Environment conservation activities in Japan by Japanese NGOs
- Range of Support: The Grant is fixed, and does not exceed the amount of expenses directly required for carrying out the Granted project.
- Eligibility: All applications must be written in Japanese. Foreign organisations must have a Japanese attorney (resident in Japan) to fill out the necessary forms.
- Duration of Support: A project may extend over multiple years but the grant application must be submitted each fiscal year and undergo the examination. This means that the grant covers only the activities to be carried out during that year.
- Additional Information: Full-time wages, endowments, and food expenses are not funded. However, temporary wages, and travel, material, construction, administration and rental expenses are funded by the grant.
